Mangus 100th birthday
Eleanor Mangus, of Vandergrift, Pa., will celebrate her 100th birthday on Feb. 7 at a family and friends open house at the porch lounge of Concordia at Cabot.
The former Eleanor Gertrude Kearney was born on Feb. 3, 1926, in Vandergrift.
She married Samuel Mangus Sr. on June 23, 1949, at St. Gertrude Church, in Vandergrift. He is deceased.
Mangus has four children, Samuel Mangus Jr. of Sarver, Daniel Mangus of Apollo, Pamela Tola of Leechburg and Ellen Jane Toy of Vandergrift.
She also has eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is a mom, and retired housewife and bank teller.
She is a lifetime member of St. Gertrude Church, in Vandergrift, having been involved in spaghetti nights and weekly church finances over the years.
She is a former member of the Fireman’s Auxiliary, Vandergrift Business Professional Women, Apollo Elks Country Club, Kiski Valley Bowling League and Vandergrift Women’s Golf League. She is a current volunteer and resident at Concordia at Cabot.
