I want to express my thanks to the folks who spoke out at a recent Butler County commissioners meeting in support of our community members who are being targeted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“County residents decry ICE,” Jan. 29, Page 1).

I would like to add my voice to those requesting that the Butler County commissioners terminate the cooperation agreement between the Butler County Sheriff’s office and ICE. I’m very concerned about the ways in which ICE is mistreating undocumented immigrants and “folks who look like they might be,” while the guardrails protecting everyone’s rights seem to be crumbling.
