Edwin ‘Eddie’ Pratts

Edwin F. “Eddie” Pratts, 79, of Butler, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie.

Born Sept. 23, 1946, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Francisco Pratts and Juanita Quiles Pratts.

Eddie was a graduate of Recinto Universitario de Mayaguez.

A veteran, he proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

He was employed as a mechanic at Steighner Crane Service in Butler.

Eddie belonged to the French and Belgian Club, the Sons and Daughters of Italy, the American Legion, and the Italian Society of Butler.

Music gave him great joy. He enjoyed singing karaoke and he loved to dance salsa. He was a great helper to everyone and he was an amazing father and friend. He was truly loved.

He is survived by two sons, Edwin Daniel Pratts, of Florida, and Edwin Francisco Pratts, of New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Laine Beth Pratts and her husband, Emanuel Soto, of Erie, and Gelaine Pratts, of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Pratts, of Florida; and his “spoiled” dog, Annie.

PRATTS — Friends of Edwin F. “Eddie” Pratts, who died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Post 778, VFW Post 249 and VFW Post 499.
