Cranberry set to unveil ‘The Butler Bell’ as part of America250 celebration
Cranberry Township will launch a yearlong celebration of America’s 250th anniversary with the unveiling of its America250 Bells Across PA display.
A ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26, at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road, in partnership with the America250 Butler Committee and Experience Butler County.
The event will feature the unveiling of “The Butler Bell,” designed by Butler-based artist Tom Panei. The bell features an abstract depiction of Butler County, highlighting the county courthouse along with musical notes and other symbolic elements.
The program will include a presentation of the American flag by VFW Post 879 and a performance by members of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra.
Bruce Hezlep, Cranberry Township supervisors chairman; Leslie Osche, Butler County commissioner; and Robi Lombardo, regional external affairs consultant for FirstEnergy, will give remarks.
The bell will remain on display through December 2026 as part of the nationwide America250 initiative.
