Neah Ewing leads Knoch girls basketball to 4th win; Butler wrestling loses tight one against North Hills: Roundup
Neah Ewing poured in 19 points to give Knoch girls basketball its fourth win of the season in routing Derry 46-18 Friday night.
Ewing sank three 3-pointers for the Knights (4-15, 4-6 WPIAL Section 1-4A).
Moon 76, Mars 38 — Ben Detisch led the Planets (9-10, 5-4 WPIAL Section 4-5A) with eight points on a tough shooting night against the 16-3 Tigers.
Sharon 57, Slippery Rock 27 — Luke Caldwell led the Rockets with 10 points, and Casey Darr added nine in the loss.
Knoch 50, Deer Lakes 29 — Teegan Finucan scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Knights to a blowout win. Vinnie DeFelice scored 14, and Liam Avon added 10.
Butler lost to North Hills 36-35 on the final bout in a dual-meet as it tunes up for the individual postseason in a couple weeks.
The Golden Tornado had a five-point lead heading into the 285-pound bout, but NH’s Cameron Healey pinned Ace McElravy in the second period to win by one point.
Nick Savannah (121 pounds), Mason Swidzinski (139) and Sutton Stoner all got pins for Butler. Santino Sloboda inched closer to the program’s all-time wins record with a technical fall win at 127 pounds. He’s at 153, seven from tying the mark.
