Pennsylvania looking to add 1,200 truck parking spots in 2026

Pennsylvania is looking to add 1,200 truck parking spots statewide before the end of 2026. According to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the state has opened 339 of the spots since October 2025.

A pair of the recently added truck parking areas are located at a weigh station along the northbound and southbound sides on Interstate 79 near Cranberry Township. Each parking area has an estimated 12 spaces.

Five truck parking spots are planned to be added in Butler County before the end of the year, adding a total of 20 spaces. All of these are to be located along Interstate 79 exit ramps.
