Celebrate the Chinese New Year at Butler’s Asian art hub
A unique piece of Butler will begin the new year on Friday, Feb. 6.
The Maridon Museum, a hub for Asian art and culture on McKean Street, will host its annual Chinese New Year Celebration event to coincide with the turning of the calendar in China. The Chinese New Year actually begins Feb. 17, welcoming in the Year of the Horse, which the Maridon will have information and activities based around.
Reservations are required by Friday, Jan. 30, to attend the event, and they can be made by calling the museum at 724-282-0123. Tickets are $65 per person.
The celebration is not just a party, it will provide a mystery-solving experience to people who attend as well. As guests explore the museum, they can uncover clues, follow story threads and work together with fellow attendees to solve a Lunar New Year mystery. It is not a traditional role-playing murder mystery — the interactive adventure will lead guests on a cultural journey that encourages observation, teamwork and discovery through the galleries.
