Butler Transit Authority will offer modified routes starting Thursday, Jan. 29, through Monday due to ongoing challenges safely navigating city streets.

“As previously communicated, many city streets have been reduced to a single lane and are too narrow for buses to operate safely. Additionally, accumulated snow at intersections is limiting buses’ ability to make safe turns,” the authority said Wednesday.

Local routes 1, 3 and 5 will have temporary changes to some of their stops. Route 3 will also not service seven of its stops.

“Route 2 remains suspended due to extremely narrow streets that do not allow for safe bus operation,” the authority said.

All commuter routes will return to normal operation.
