Donald Glasgow
Donald “Donnie” J. Glasgow, 67, of Butler, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, after suffering from complications from a successful double lung and liver transplant.
He was born in Butler on May 6, 1958, to Joanne Glasgow and the late James “Jim” Glasgow. Donnie graduated from Butler High School and received his associate degree from Butler County Community College. Donnie was a heavy equipment operator and worked at Magnetics for over 30 years, he also worked for EQS and PennDOT, before retiring in 2021, from PennDOT.
Donnie was an Eagle Scout and when his boys were young, he was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout leader. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, First United Methodist Church and most recently attended Community Alliance Church. Donnie volunteered at Seneca Bible Camp and Community Alliance Church.
He enjoyed antiquing and traveling in his free time. Donnie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, kayaking, boating and hiking. He loved to teach his children and grandchildren his love of the outdoors. It was a very special thing to go fishing, hunting and boating — anything with him. He lived life to the fullest and was most at home in the woods or on the water, especially when with his two closest hunting buddies, Corey and Dawn.
Donnie was known for being brave. He touched many lives with his courage, laughter, loyalty and faithfulness. He had a true servant heart. He was always available to help family or friends. Many people have memories of him teaching them how to hunt and fish. Donnie was a selfless man and the bravest person his family knew. And above all else, he loved his family and spending time with them.
Donnie was the cherished husband of LuAnn (Kirk) Glasgow, since their marriage 45 years ago; father of Philip and Corey Glasgow and Dawn Glasgow-Heinz; brother of Joy Bernhard and Sharon Perschke; and grandfather of Asher Glasgow and Weston Heinz.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, James.
