Restaurant Week to highlight Butler County eateries old and new
Experience Butler County is running a promotion to encourage tourists and residents alike to try the unique food landscape of the region — when they are ready to go out in the winter conditions.
Restaurant Week is a 10-day promotion from Saturday, Jan. 23, to Sunday, Feb. 1, that aims to show off all Butler County has to offer in terms of food while offering additional incentives to visit, such as a special deal or menu item.
Amy Pack, president of Experience Butler County, said 2026 marks the fifth year of the promotion. She said this year, they decided to move the week to January to help support businesses during the slowest part of the year.
“People really slow down after the holidays, so it's a great reason for people to go out and have something to do this time of year,” she said.
For this year, Pack said they added a new system to the promotion that lets them offer another incentive. Now, participants are able to check into participating restaurants to enter into a giveaway for gift cards.
She said support among both restaurant owners and patrons who use the program has only grown year over year. She is extremely proud of the wide variety of restaurants the promotion offers.
“I’m just pleased at how widespread we were able to get participants,” Pack said. “Wherever you are in Butler County, there’s somewhere convenient and accessible. We’re also doing two weekends to give people even more opportunity to go out.”
Two of those establishments are the North Country Brew Pub in Slippery Rock and the Harmony Inn in Harmony. Both are owned and operated by the North Country Brewing Company, but will feature different promotions.
Terrilynn Halbleib, director of operations at North Country Brewing, said the Harmony Inn will have “Beef on Weck,” a prime rib sandwich and a customer favorite, as its highlighted specials. The Slippery Rock brew pub will have maple balsamic chicken thighs, a new dish expected to be part of the upcoming menu for the pub.
She said she got the North Country locations involved in the promotion when it began because of the support Experience Butler County has given the company over the years.
“They help to put the spotlight on local businesses and supported us in getting grants, so we always want to be involved in what they’re doing and giving back,” Halbleib said.
She said participating has drawn new customers.
“We absolutely see more foot traffic and we especially get a lot of new people,” she said.
Another restaurant participating in the promotion is Pocha by Kye-Won, a Korean restaurant nestled in Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market in Saxonburg.
Despite being open about a year, the restaurant has quickly garnered attention. It was recently voted the best Korean restaurant and second best wings in the region in the 2025 Pittsburgh City Paper reader’s poll.
Kye-Won Doyle, the restaurant’s owner, said she’s incredibly grateful for the high praise and is thankful the business is scaling at a pace she can handle.
“It’s been this weird, gradual thing. But now, it’s going so fast. I appreciate it, because I think if we did that (sooner) we would’ve failed. We would’ve scaled without learning anything,” she said.
Doyle said she chose not to offer a new food item due to her menu already being unique for the county. Instead, the restaurant will offer a promotional meal for two. The meal is split into three courses: an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Doyle said patrons will also be able to pay to add on two beers from Grist House Beer Market.
She said she hopes patrons, especially locals, will get the opportunity to try something new they wouldn’t normally get exposure to.
“I think that Korean food in Butler County is already special food to people. They haven’t had it. So there was no ‘trying something new’ because it’s all new,” Doyle said about her meal deal.
