Hinderliter

Elaine R. Hinderliter, 80, of Saxonburg, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born Sept. 17, 1945, in Kittanning, she was the daughter of Charles Ruffaner and Alverta Ewing Ruffaner.

Elaine was a secretary for the Department of the Navy, the Clarence Brown School and Cabot United Methodist Church. She was a member of Cabot Church and was active with the food bank. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Courtney (Dave) Gillette, of Cabot, Shane (Amy) Hinderliter, of Sarver, and Sara (Barry) Donehue, of Aiken, S.C.; three sisters, Maxine Anderson, of Saxonburg, Isabel Voltz, of Saxonburg, and Janice Bachman, of Cabot; six grandchildren, Ethan, Jaxson, Bennett and Bethany Donehue, and Hannah and Maxwell Hinderliter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis Hinderliter, on Sept. 10, 2018; and one grandson, Benjamin.

HINDERLITER — Friends of Elaine R. Hinderliter, who died Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, will be received from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Cabot Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot, with a memorial service following at 4 p.m.

Private interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to Wesley Woods Christian Camp Scholarship Fund, 1001 Fiddlersgreen Road, Grand Valley, PA 16420.

In lieu of flowers, please bring nonperishable food for the food bank.
