Richard ‘Dick’ Dunlap

Richard C. “Dick” Dunlap, 84, passed peacefully on his birthday, Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at Grove Manor following a 10-month illness.

Dick was born in Grove City on Jan. 21, 1942, to Delmar L. and Bernice I. (Critchlow) Dunlap.

He was raised in the Baptist faith and most recently he was active with the Slippery Rock Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School in 1960 and he was a member of the F&AM Lodge 603, Grove City.

Dick began his working career in Washington, D.C., working for Embassy Dairy. He later was a taxicab driver and mechanic and became a fireman with the Prince George’s County Fire Department, where he worked for over 20 years.

He returned to the local area in the late ‘80s, where he drove school bus within the Grove City Area School District for the next 30 years.

Dick enjoyed traveling, camping and sailing with his children in their younger years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Nancy L. (Daniel) Barnett, Russell S. (Tiffiany) Dunlap, and Stephen L. (Denise St. John) Dunlap; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandy Phelps; and a brother, Russell L. (Cheryl) Dunlap.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Anne (Monsma) Dunlap, Annetta L. (Hannum) Dunlap, Martha J. (Hague) Beatty Dunlap and Carol A. (Deniker) Winters Dunlap; and his oldest son, Donald E. Dunlap, who passed in 2019.

DUNLAP — Visitation for Richard C. “Dick” Dunlap, who died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Willard Morse officiating.

Burial will be Prairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charitable organizations that benefit multiple sclerosis, local fire departments, or that support special needs children.
