Mars approves new softball, boys track and field head coaches at school board meeting

Mars softball and boys track and field will have new head coaches when the 2026 season begins.
Gerold Testa was approved at the Jan. 13 school board meeting, and he’ll take over for Mike Bell. Daniel Carlino takes over the boys track position; Robert Veloz held the job last season.
Girls track head coach Julianna Watenpool and boys tennis coach Chris Knauff are back for another season, according to the board minutes.
Mars has two marquee positions it could fill by February’s board meeting: football and boys soccer. Knauff retired as boys soccer coach after the fall season.
