Marilyn Zaccari

Zaccari

Marilyn Louise (Douthett) Zaccari, 82, of Butler, went home to the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ellen (Lester) Douthett. A proud 1961 graduate of Butler Senior High School, Marilyn was famously voted “Best Dancer” by her senior class, a testament to the vibrant spirit she carried throughout her life.

Marilyn enjoyed a lifelong career as a talented hairstylist, but her true passions were found in nature and with her family. A lifelong animal lover, she spent many years with her horses and was honored as the Connoquenessing Rodeo Queen. She found peace while hiking and used the beauty of the outdoors to teach her family how to love deeply through the wonders of nature.

She is survived by her loving sister, Debbie (Douthett) Grossi; devoted children, Deanna Zaccari, Sonja (Troy) Downing and David (Kelly) Zaccari. She was the cherished grandmother of Kayla (Jordan Sweigart) Cowoski, Alyce and Amelie Bittar, Josie (Matthew) Brown, Xander Downing, Dominik Fudoli and Nash Zaccari; and the great-grandmother of Kolson Hindley and Charli Sweigart.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, David Douthett; her sister, Barbara Giuntoli; and grandson, Taaron Downing.

Marilyn loved her family “to the moon and back,” and her legacy of kindness and appreciation for the natural world will live on through them. She was devoted to God and instilled the power of prayer in her children and grandchildren.
