Carol Ann Chitwood, 74, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 13, 1951, in Butler, daughter of the late Donald and Mary (Slomers) Thomas.

Carol graduated from Butler Area High School on June 2, 1970. She then worked for Pittsburgh Plastics Manufacturing as a factory worker, until retiring in 2017. She was also a longtime member of Allison Park Church — Butler Campus, as well as the East Butler Firemen’s Club. Carol enjoyed reading books, playing bingo and sewing, as well as spending time with her loving family.

Carol is survived by her son, William Chitwood; her daughter, Mary Ann Chitwood; her granddaughter, Gabrielle Holmes; her brother, David Thomas; her two sisters, Donna Hayden and Mary Ellen Sleigher; her six nieces; as well as by her four nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Thomas; as well as by her two sisters, Linda Neff and Debbie Raimondi.

CHITWOOD — A visitation for Carol Ann Chitwood, who died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, will be held from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
