Butler grad Abigail Vance earns conference swimming honor: College roundup
The latest from the local college sports season:
Abigail Vance, a Butler graduate and Grove City College freshman swimmer, won three individual events as the Wolverines downed Penn State Behrend on Saturday.
She earned first-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.42), 200 breast (2:29.55) and 200 IM (2:16.13). Vance earned the PAC Women’s Swimmer/Diver of the Week award for her effort.
Fellow freshman Mollie Massella, a Slippery Rock grad, won the 200 fly (2:13.80).
Butler graduate and Westminster freshman track runner Aaron Stebick finished 18th in the 400-meter dash (51.07) Friday at Akron’s Al Campbell Invitational.
Stebick’s time is the eight-best in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. He also placed 19th in the 200 (22.96), the league’s 10th-best effort.
Knoch graduate and Penn State-Altoona swimmer Caden Traggiai earned first-place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:19.62) and 500 freestyle (4:57.98) as the Lions lost to St. Vincent College on the road.
