Genealogical society hosting remote research webinar

The Butler County Genealogical Society will host the webinar “Remote Research in the Databases of the Daughters of the American Revolution Genealogical Research System” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St. in Butler.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has been collecting genealogical information since 1890 to support the application process for membership and to honor the service of patriots. The society operates a library in Washington, D.C., where members have scanned and provided public access to extensive online resources. The webinar’s speaker, Rick Sayre, will demonstrate how to access these records.

Sayre is a longtime researcher and instructor in genealogical topics. He has taught at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, and he presents nationwide seminars.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free webinar.
