Mars football coach Eric Kasperowicz leaving to take over for North Hills
Following four seasons in charge of Mars’ football program, Eric Kasperowicz has been named the head coach at North Hills, where he played from 1990-93.
The news was announced on Thursday night.
Kasperowicz took over for the Planets in 2022 and posted a 30-17 record with the team. He also reached the WPIAL Class 4A semifinals twice.
Kasperowicz threw for 5,500 yards and rushed for 1,369 more while starring for North Hills. He also snared 20 interceptions on defense.
As a senior, he led the team to WPIAL and state titles with 2,781 yards passing and 14 defensive INTs that year. North Hills won the PIAA title 15-14 thanks to his fourth-down TD pass and two-point conversion late in the game.
Kasperowicz played linebacker at Pittsburgh after being tabbed as a Parade All-American in 1994.
Kasperowicz has taught at North Hills for 27 years, according to his LinkedIn bio, and is currently a gifted education teacher.
