Butler Transit Authority’s board of directors announced a set of changes to the authority’s bus routes and schedule set to go in effect on Feb. 9.

Authority executive director John Paul announced the update during a board meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 13. Chief among the changes is the Saturday schedule will now match existing weekday schedules.

“This change is intended to provide more consistent service throughout the week and improve reliability for riders,” a release from the authority said.

Alongside the schedule change, a few route updates will go in effect the same day. Route 2/4 will be renamed to Route 2, but service will not change.

Around Pullman Square, Route 5 will now only service the Renaissance Drive stop, while the Gabe’s and Woody Drive stop will move to Route 2.

“These updates are designed to improve clarity, consistency and access for our riders,” the release said regarding the route updates.

Paul encouraged riders to review the updated schedules and routes before implementation. Details can be found on the authority’s website, butlertransitauthority.com, and at the downtown bus terminal on West New Castle Street.
