The PIAA soccer championships are heading west — far west.

The state’s high school governing body announced the next four-year cycle of fall championship locations, and Pittsburgh’s Highmark Stadium will be the new home for the boys and girls state finals beginning this fall.

The home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Riveters, Highmark Stadium takes over after Cumberland Valley held the finals from 2022-24 and Northeastern York in 2025. Hersheypark Stadium held the state championships in soccer and football for years, but Hershey has divested from many PIAA events in recent years.

Highmark already plays host to the WPIAL soccer championships, typically 2-3 weeks prior to the state finals.

The host sites for the fall championships from 2026-29 will be:

Football: Cumberland Valley High School

Soccer: Highmark Stadium

Cross country: Big Spring High School

Girls volleyball: St. Francis University

Field hockey: Cumberland Valley High School

Golf: Penn State Golf Courses

Girls tennis: Hershey Racquet Club
