Ruby L. Riddell Detwiler, 76, of Evans City, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 7, 2026, after a short illness, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless.

Born Nov. 5, 1949, in Saltsburg, Indiana County, she was the daughter of the late Dea and Buelah Nagle Riddell.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Ruby loved her grandchildren and attending their many activities.

She traveled to Florida to visit family and loved each moment she spent there.

Ruby also loved going camping.

Ruby participated in many events at the Evans City Senior Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Frank L. Detwiler, on June 27, 2021; one son, Shawn Detwiler; a son-in-law, Elmer Beahm; five sisters; and five brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Beahm Rozic, Margaret (James Jr.) Boring and Angela (Arthur III) Kort, all of Evans City; two sisters, Sandra Tacoronte and Linda Garcia, both of Youngstown, Ohio; one brother, Carl Riddell, of Erie; five grandchildren, James (Britney) Boring III, Frank (Ashley) Boring, and Shawn, Zack and Madison Kort; two great-granddaughters, Liliana and Serra Boring; also nieces and nephews.

DETWILER — Friends and relatives of Ruby L. Detwiler, who died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Jimmy Caraway, pastor of Christ Bible Church, officiating.

Ruby will be laid to rest in the Evans City Cemetery.

The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Evans City Senior Center.
