Owen Congdon helps guide Seneca Valley to boys hoops win over Woody High: Roundup

Behind Owen Congdon’s 14 points and 10 more from Ryan Priester, Seneca Valley downed Woodland Hills 45-34 on the road in boys basketball action on Friday night.

The Raiders move to 7-6 on the season, including a 2-4 record in the section. They play Pine-Richland at home on Tuesday.

Lincoln Park 59, Mars 58 (2OT) — The Planets put up a fight, leading by one after the third quarter, but Austen Wroblewski’s 19 points weren’t enough.

Freeport 61, Highlands 52 — Gavin Tola led the Yellowjackets with 16 points. Bryson Paga and Carson Kane both had 15.

Pine-Richland 61, Butler 45 — Stainton Forbes paced the Golden Tornado with 11 points and Andrew Gettinger chipped in with another nine, but Butler fell to 3-3 in WPIAL Section 1-6A play with the defeat.

Girls basketball

North Catholic 67, Knoch 23 — Sam Weir led the Trojanettes with 17 points and Harmony Jones added another 15 in the win.

Neah Ewing had 13 points, including three 3-pointers, for the Knights (1-11, 1-3).

Bowling

Hannah Windows starred, rolling a 695 series and 248 game, as Freeport’s girls bowling team downed Deer Lakes 7-0.

Deer Lakes 7, Freeport (boys) 0 — Christian Como had a 502 series and 198 game, both team-highs, for the Yellowjackets.
