Crawford

Steven L. Crawford, 65, of East Brady, was called home to heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, to be reunited with his beloved parents, Roy and Beverly; his sister, Laura; and his niece, Jennifer.

Born May 17, 1960, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harry L. “Roy” Crawford and the late Beverly Jean (Beabout) Crawford.

Steve worked for East Brady Lumber Company for 30-plus years, Brady’s Bend Corporation for two years and East Brady borough for 10 years. He also served the community through the years as a member of the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department. He assisted the East Brady Ambulance service as a driver and with his mechanic skills.

He enjoyed watching his favorite old-time Western and outdoor shows. He also liked watching Steelers games. His greatest joy came through hearing stories about and seeing the accomplishments of his nieces and nephews, especially his great-nieces and great-nephew.

Steve is survived by his sisters, Barbara (James) Mortimer, of East Brady, and Kathy (Michael) Dailey, of Karns City; and his brother-in-law, Larry Hogan, of East Brady; along with his nephews, Jake (Tracy) Dailey, of East Brady, Jeff (Melissa) Hogan, of East Brady, David (Moe) Hicks, of East Brady; and niece, Sarah Jean Dailey, of Dublin, Ohio. He was affectionately known as Uncle Steve to his great-nieces and great-nephew, Emma, Haylee, Hanna, Natalee, Jaxxson and Kimberlee. He is also survived by several loved cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry L. “Roy” Crawford; his mother, Beverly Jean (Beabout) Crawford; one sister, Laura (Crawford) Hogan; and one niece, Jennifer (Hogan) Hicks.
