Rev. William Jamieson

The Rev. Dr. William A. Jamieson, 90, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2026, at Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Oct. 2, 1935, in Clinton, Mass., he was the son of the late James and Anna Russell Jamieson.

A graduate of Clinton High School and of Gordon College, both in Massachusetts, Rev. J attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity and Theology with honors. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from the Theological Foundation in Donaldson, Ind. He was ordained May 20, 1960, by the First U.P. Church of Clinton, Mass.

He received the Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver awards from Boy Scouts of America. Rev. J. also served as chaplain for two national jamborees for the Boy Scouts.

Rev. J. served as a pastoral counselor for the Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute and a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Rev. J. served as pastor at Amity Presbyterian Church Dravosburg, Pa., for 10 years, and then Westminster Presbyterian Church, Evans City, for 28 years, retiring April 30, 1998. He was named pastor emeritus of the Westminster church. He was very proud to serve the congregations of both churches.

Rev. J was a member of Beaver-Butler Presbytery, where he served as moderator on two occasions and was a chairperson on various committees.

In addition to his parents, Rev. J was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie E. Higgins Jamieson, whom he married Sept. 13, 1958, and who passed away Sept. 26, 2025, after celebrating 67 years of marriage.

He is survived by one daughter, Laurel (Roger) Lohrey, of Northfield Center, Ohio; one son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Jamieson, of Meridian; and three grandchildren, Erica Jamieson, Martin Zanicky and Stuart Lohrey.

JAMIESON — Friends and relatives of the Rev. Dr. William A. Jamieson, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.

There will be additional visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Westminster Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lauren Bosserman, pastor of Westminster United Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Dr. Tom Harmon, officiating.

Rev. Jamieson will be laid to rest in the Evans City Cemetery.

The family has suggested memorial donations be made to Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 330 E. Main St., Evans City, PA 16033.
