With deep sadness, the family announces the passing of James E. Murrman, 97, of Butler, Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, at Concordia Cabot.

Born in Jeannette Aug. 31,1928, he was a son of the late Francis P. and Margaret (Farabaugh) Murrman.

Jim was a Jeannette High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army Military Police in Austria. In 1952, Jim enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police. He retired in 1981 as a corporal at the Butler Barracks.

In retirement, Jim was a wedding photographer and clubhouse manager at Saxon Golf Course.

Jim married Faye Curfman on June 23, 1958. In 67 years together, they traveled extensively, especially enjoying the beach. Jim also enjoyed golf, biking and bowling. He was a member of the Brady Paul F.O.P. Memorial Lodge 54.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by two daughters, Linda Murrman, of Butler, and Janice (Jerry) Ohl, of Corry, Pa.; a grandson, Jerrett Ohl; a sister, Joann Benoit; two brothers, Charles and Francis Murrman; and two brothers-in-law, Galen and Ned Curfman.

Jim was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Joseph, Richard and Paul Murrman.

MURRMAN — A visitation for James E. Murrman, who died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Steve Franklin officiating.

A private burial will be held at Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the donor's discretion.
