Neubert

Sylvia Faye Neubert, 88, of Saxonburg, died in the early morning of Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, in Zelienople.

Born Oct. 6, 1937, in Braeburn, Pa., she was the daughter of the late W. Roy Weimer and Pearl (Tonks) Weimer.

Sylvia was a 1955 graduate of New Kensington High School. She excelled in art and upon graduation her ability led her to be hired by ALCOA in New Kensington. She took several art classes at Carnegie Mellon while working at ALCOA as a commercial artist. Later in life, she worked as a graphic artist for ASA in Butler. Her pen and ink illustrations of Saxonburg benefit the Saxonburg Library and historical society. She was accomplished in all media and won many awards at art shows. She belonged to the Associated Artists of Butler County and Saxonburg Fine Art.

She enjoyed an active life and her passions were dance and art. At age 5, she started dance lessons which eventually led her into teaching dance and aerobics. She also was the adviser for Knoch High School’s drill team, the Knochettes, and choreographer for some of Knoch’s musicals. She loved working with the young people at Knoch High.

Sylvia and her husband, Don, whom she married in 1959, loved to hike, bike, cross-country ski and go camping. She and her family have seen almost all of our country in their camper and these were some of her favorite memories. Upon retirement, she and Don enjoyed traveling overseas many times and many of these places are reflected in her paintings. Sylvia also loved flower and vegetable gardening and really enjoyed riding locally and on tours with Don and friends in their Model T Fords.

Her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and brought much love to her life.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Daniel) Millett of Cranberry Township; her son, Timothy D. (Beth) Neubert, of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Danielle Migliozzi, Stephen and Jeffrey Millett, Carson and Miles Neubert; and two great-grandchildren. Sylvia is also survived by her brother, James Weimer, of Rancho Mission Viejo, Calif.; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents her husband, Donald E. Neubert, and brother, Brad Weimer.
