Scott Burns

Scott “Scotty” Burns, 67, of Cabot, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2025.

He was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 15, 1958, to the late Richard and Roberta (Matchett) Burns.

Scotty graduated from Knoch High School and was widely known as the best drywaller, taking pride in his trade.

Scotty appreciated simple pleasures and time spent outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He held family close and loved being with his children and grandchildren.

He was the father of Denielle, Jacob and Grant Burns, Laura (Corey) Wirtz and bonus son, Sebastian Broskey; he is also survived by his wife, Denise (Caputo) Burns, whom he married in 1983, and remained close friends with, sharing their history and devotion to their children; brother of James Burns; and grandfather of Savannah, Sean, Grant Jr. and Skylar.

BURNS — Family and friends of Scott “Scotty” Burns, who died Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
