Alexis Cashdollar stars for Mars girls basketball in win over Peters Township: Roundup

Alexis Cashdollar’s game-high 24 points helped push Mars past Peters Township 40-31 in girls basketball action on Friday night. The Planets move to 3-7 and continue WPIAL Section 3-5A play on Monday against Moon.

Karns City 44, Knoch 35 — Naomi Venesky paced the Gremlins with 21 points in the win, while Neah Ewing sank four 3-pointers and scored 18 for the Knights. Knoch falls to 0-10 and hosts Derry on Monday.

Latrobe 36, Butler 35 — The Golden Tornado (8-3) got off three shots with less than eight seconds to go, but couldn’t get one to go down to win it. Emily Hoffer had a team-high 13 points for Butler.

Seneca Valley’s girls swimming team visited and downed Butler 99-68. The Raiders’ boys beat the Golden Tornado 97-29. No further details were provided for either meet.

Boys basketball

Cole Johnston bucketed 14 points and Xavier Bartoe and Keegan Schrecongost both had 12, pushing Karns City past West Shamokin 53-37.

Moniteau 68, Redbank Valley 66 — Dawson Cook poured in 20 points, Brendin Sankey 14 and Andrew Zepeda and Weston Cook both added 12 as the Warriors earned a victory.
