Eleanor Painter
Eleanor R. (Smith) Painter, 81, of Harmony, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025.
She was born and raised on her family farm in Rimersburg, Pa., where she learned the values of hard work, compassion and faith that shaped her life.
Eleanor devoted 25 years of service to Passavant Retirement Center in Zelienople. While she took pride in her work, it was the residents she loved most — and they truly loved her in return. Her kindness, patience and genuine care left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Above all, Eleanor cherished time spent with her family and friends. Her home was always open, not only to her loved ones but also to the many others she lovingly referred to as her “extra children.” She leaned on her strong faith throughout her life and was especially grateful for the time she was able to spend surrounded by those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Rosie) Painter, of Roseville, Calif., Shaun (Melissa) Painter, of Cranberry Township, and Stacey (Jim) Warner, of Greenwood, S.C. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Tyler, Austin and Adam Painter, Laken and Teegan Painter, and Lana (Cody) Corley; as well as two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Celie Corley.
In addition, she leaves behind her siblings, Larry (Cheryl) Smith and Jean Corbett; along with many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her two infant children, Phillip Bruce and Tammy Lynn; her parents, Phillip and Francis Smith; and her siblings, Donald, Polly, Dorothy and Vivian.
