Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company battled a garage fire Saturday evening, Dec. 27, along Ashford Drive in Cranberry Township.

According to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch, the fire was reported at a property around 6 p.m

Cranberry Township fire company made a Facebook post regarding the fire Sunday, where it said its engine was the first on scene.

“Due to the fast-staffed response, station location and quick actions of the driver operator, the fire was held to a single housing unit and was relatively contained to the area of origin,” the post said. “The fire was the result of a kitchen fire that was thrown into the garage from the kitchen causing the fire to extend into the garage.”

The fire company also thanked all other responding companies for their assistance.
