Boyce

James C. Boyce, 95, of Mars, formerly of Valencia, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 18, 2025, at Concordia of Cranberry, Mars.

Born in Butler on Sept. 16, 1930, he was the son of the late Edgar and Edna Steinke Boyce.

Jim graduated from Mars High School in 1948, where he played football.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 at Fort Indiantown Gap and in Germany.

Jim married Olive B. Bartello on July 2, 1955, and was married for 69 years until her death on Aug. 5, 2024.

He retired from North Pittsburgh Telephone Company in 1992, after 38½ years as a cable splicer.

Jim was a lifetime member of Valencia Presbyterian Church, where for many years he served as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Jim enjoyed fly fishing, fly tying, reading, being outdoors and spending time with his family.

Surviving are two sons, Mark Boyce (Kim), of Butler and Russell Boyce, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a daughter, Pam Molinaro (Ray), of Valencia; his grandchildren, Erin, Michael, Heidi and Holly; and his great-grandchildren, Adah and Jionni.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive B. Boyce; his sister, Helen Zurasky; his brother, Paul Boyce; and his great-grandson, Emil Furman.

BOYCE — Services for James C. Boyce, who died Thursday evening, Dec. 18, 2025, are private, with burial in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.

Memorials may be made to the Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St. Valencia, PA 16059.
