State police filed six summary traffic citations against a Butler man for striking a tree on Osche Road in Clearfield Township and abandoning his disabled pickup truck at the scene.

The citations were filed against Brian K. Stewart, 56, on Dec. 18, the day after the incident. Police said he was driving north shortly after 7 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a left curve and struck a tree along the side of the road. He was not wearing a seat belt, his truck was disabled and he fled the scene, police said.

The citations were filed at District Judge Lewis Stoughton’s office in Chicora. Stewart has not entered a plea, according to court documents.
