Evans City awarded $300K for West Main Street culvert project
Evans City was awarded $300,000 in Local Share Account funding to make improvements to the culvert beneath West Main Street, according to state officials.
The funding will be used to replace the existing culvert, which officials say has contributed to flooding and road safety concerns during periods of heavy rain and snowmelt.
Local Share Account funds are generated through gaming revenues under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act and are distributed to support public-interest projects across the state.
The grant, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, was announced by state Rep. Stephenie Scialabba, R-12, and state Sen. Elder Vogel, R-47.
