Michael Sauers
Michael D. Sauers, 83, of Mars, passed away unexpectedly at his home Wednesday morning, Dec. 17, 2025.
Born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 7, 1942, he was the son of the late George J. and Margaret Ryan Sauers.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mike served as a heavy vehicle driver there.
Mike was an over-the-road truck driver and more recently drove for A. Duie Pyle in Sharpsburg.
A lifelong Butler County resident, he was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars and a former longtime member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church.
He was a life member of Mars Rod and Gun Club, he was an avid hunter, loved Westerns, a big race car fan and loved to read. He was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association. He also volunteered with his therapy dog.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and former chaplain at the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Cherry Hollen Sauers; his adopted son, James Karpinski (Nan); his nephews, Matthew Sauers (Laura) and Daniel Sauers (Megan); numerous nieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Sauers.
He was preceded in death by two infant daughters; and his brother, George Robert Sauers.
SAUERS — Friends of Michael D. Sauers, who died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
A Masonic service will be held at 3:45 p.m., followed by funeral services at 4 p.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Katie McNeal officiating. Military honors will follow the service.
Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Adams Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mike’s honor to St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, PA 16046.
