Willie Adams, longtime chairman of the Summit Township Board of Supervisors, recently died unexpectedly, according to the township’s website.

“Officials of Summit Township would like to extend heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and residents of the unexpected passing of supervisor and chairman of the board, Willie Adams,” the website said.

The website also said the scheduled supervisors meeting for Wednesday, Dec. 17, was canceled.

Roxann Stickney, secretary for the township, said Adams was not only a dedicated supervisor, but a good friend.

“He was always supportive of me, and he’ll be deeply missed,” she said.
