Rivers

Donald “Hot Rod” Rivers, 80, of Butler and Ormond Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025.

He was born in Medina, Ohio, on May 5, 1945, to the late Thomas Rivers and Pearl Gilboux.

Don enjoyed traveling coast to coast for air shows and motorcycle rallies. He loved music and entertained in the Butler area with his dear friends and bandmates. For many years, Don also played guitar at the American Legion in the Lyndora dance hall. He will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones.

Don was the beloved husband of Linda (Steinheiser) Rivers; father of Kurt and Brian (Yolanda) Rivers; grandfather of Luke (Yasmin) and Selena Rivers; and brother of Bonnie (Bob) VanGorder and Sandy (Ken) Musko. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Goepfert; and brother, Thomas Rivers.

RIVERS — All services for Donald “Hot Rod” Rivers, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
