Swidzinski

Daniel “Dan” Swidzinski, 71, of West Sunbury passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side Friday, Dec. 12, 2025.

He was born Feb. 23, 1954, in Butler. He was the son of the late Adam and Betty (Kirk) Swidzinski.

Dan worked at Pullman Standard, Heckett, Armco and retired from AK Steel in May 2016. He was a hard worker and known for his great work ethic. He loved to work, from the time he got up till the early evening. When he wasn’t working, he was thinking about his next project! In his younger years, he liked to ski and traveled throughout the United States and internationally. He enjoyed his life. He loved his family, loved his dog Maggie and loved taking care of his wife.

Dan was the beloved husband of Cyndi (Trufley) Swidzinski, whom he married Nov. 5, 2005; father of Jared (Melissa) Swidzinski, of New Orleans, and Abbie (Derek) Flinner, of Prospect; Pappy of Piper, Eden, Patricia, Evelyn and Celia; and brother of Elaine Westfall, of Florida. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Barb Swidzinski, and his brother-in-law, Walt Cooper.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Robert Swidzinski, and his sister, Jean Cooper.

SWIDZINSKI — A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Daniel “Dan” Swidzinski, who died Friday, Dec. 12, 2025.

The Young family of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury has assisted the family with arrangements.
