Nancy Holbein, 89, of Butler, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025.

She was born in Butler on July 19, 1936, to the late Martin and Lucille (Rapp) Dickey. Nancy graduated from Butler High School, Class of 1954, and was employed as a teacher’s aide for Butler Area School District.

She was the matriarch of the family and was known for being a great mom, loving and caring. Nancy enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and traveling; where she enjoyed the beach and was especially fond of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Paul Holbein, whom she married Oct. 5, 1962, and who died in 1979; mother of Jeffrey (Becky) Barber Sr., Martha (Jon) McClymonds, Jay (Faith) Barber and Jennifer (Michael) Angert; sister of Mary Ann Turner; grandmother of Mike (Julie), Matt and Evan Barber, Chanel (Gus) Bailey, Ray (Karin) Jr. and Krystal Kroll; and great-grandmother of seven.

HOLBEIN — Family and friends of Nancy Holbein, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A closing prayer will immediately follow in the funeral home.
