Gas line work on Franklin Road in Cranberry delayed due to weather
Road Work DME
Upcoming gas line relocation work on Franklin Road has been pushed back due to weather, the state Department of Transportation announced Friday, Dec. 12.
The work, originally planned for Saturday, is now scheduled for Monday, Dec. 15. Crews will use flaggers and enforce single-lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Route 228 and Hillmont Drive while the line is moved.
The relocation is part of a four-year, $19.1 million safety improvement project that includes shoulder widening, edge-line rumble strips and sight-distance upgrades.
Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc., of State College, is the project contractor. Completion is expected in early November 2027.
