Center Township finalizes budget with no tax hike
CENTER TWP — With the passing of a finalized budget, residents can now be certain that taxes for the township will not increase in 2026.
Supervisors voted unanimously on Wednesday, Dec. 10, to finalize Center Township’s roughly $3 million budget and set the tax rate at 7.05 mills for the upcoming year.
When the budget was presented in November, supervisors said they expected a $600,000 increase to the general operating fund but did not anticipate a need to increase the township’s 3.55 mills dedicated to it.
“There is no increase for this year, again. It’s been a long time since we’ve needed to raise taxes,” Supervisor Don Pringle said after the vote.
The biggest anticipated expenses for next year come from tree trimming and other public works projects, which Supervisor Phil Wulff said have been increasing year over year.
The next Center Township Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29.
