Butler man arrested after driving into Applebee’s
A Butler man has been charged with driving under the influence after Butler Township police said he drove into Applebee’s restaurant on Dec. 2.
David Joseph Cavanaugh, 78, was arrested after police investigated a two-vehicle crash that happened near the Applebee’s in the Butler Crossing Plaza, according to court documents.
According to a Butler Township Police Department news release, Cavanaugh made a right turn and collided with a vehicle. Cavanaugh did not stop, proceeded to drive into the parking lot and then drove into the side of the building.
Cavanaugh is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other related traffic offenses, according to Butler Township Police Department. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Kevin O’Donnell.
