Cranberry Township supervisors prepare to fill board vacancy
The Cranberry Township supervisors last week held a special meeting to interview five applicants seeking to fill the vacancy left by longtime Supervisor Mike Manipole, who retired last month after 16 years of service.
The five candidates included Anthony Bertolino, Brandon Dukes, Denise Etter, Eduardo Sande and Anthony Storti.
Bertolino works in business management for Universal Compliance LLC, according to a LinkedIn profile.
Dukes has previously ran for a supervisor position, and works as a commercial construction loan administrator and is active in the Butler County Democratic Committee.
Etter was named the Cranberry Sunrise Rotarian of Year in 2024, and plays an active role with the Butler County Republican party.
Sande is the founder of Bejeti, a company that sells wallets. He is the son of Uruguayan immigrants and a first-generation American.
Storti is an engineering manager for Camgain, which works with advanced artificial intelligence to enhance decision-making in high-stakes environments, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The meeting on Wednesday, which was attended by Chairman Bruce Hezlep along with Supervisors Bruce Mazzoni, Karen Newpol and John Skorupan, featured interviews with the five candidates.
The supervisors indicated their satisfaction with the interviews and canceled a follow-up meeting scheduled Dec. 4.
The new appointee will serve out the remainder of Manipole’s term, which runs through Dec. 31, 2027.
The current supervisors will have an opportunity to appoint one of those five candidates at their final regular meeting of the year set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the township’s municipal center.
