Andrew Omasits leads Seneca Valley boys basketball to win; Moniteau girls fall short: Roundup

Andrew Omasits sank four of Seneca Valley’s eight 3-pointers, finishing with 23 points in a comfortable 62-46 non-section win over Peters Township on Monday night.

Ryan Priester added 18 points, including two more 3s. He had 10 of those points in the third quarter, and Omasits broke out with 20 points after the first quarter.

Dylan Donovan and Jake Wetzel had 21 and 15 points, respectively, for Indians, but they were held to just six points in the decisive fourth quarter.

North Clarion County 54, Union 32 — Jackson Renwick had half of the Knights’ points, all of his 16 coming in the second half. He made four treys, as well.

Girls basketball

Maddy Eury scored a team-high 15 points, all on treys, but Moniteau fell short against Keystone in a 48-44 loss.

Alyssa Thompson and Emily Matz added 11 and eight points, respectively, and Matz also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

North Catholic 50, Gateway 15 — Harmony Jones had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the blowout win. The Trojanettes, who also got 12 points from Brady Wehner, didn’t allow more than six points in any frame.
