St. Bonaventure thumped Walsh 33-8 Saturday in the National Collegiate Rugby Division I men’s semifinals at Butler’s Pullman Recreation Complex.

And in the Division I-AA tournament, Bowling Green beat Louisville, setting a date with Tennessee in next week’s championship game.

The two national semis were the first major collegiate playoff events at Pullman Recreation Complex.

The Bonnies went up 23-0 at halftime, and Daniel Lowther, Reynard Boshoff and Troy Heroldt scored on tries in the blowout. St. Bonaventure will face Queens, which beat Belmont Abbey in another semifinal in Charlotte, N.C., for the national championship.

Bowling Green broke a 21-21 tie with the Cardinals when flanker Joseph Harris scored in the 83rd minute, sending them to their second straight appearance in the final. The Falcons will face the Volunteers, who beat Texas A&M 35-10 in the other semifinal in Knoxville, Tenn.

The championship games will be held Saturday in Houston.
