Ruth Black, 84 of Saxonburg, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at Quality Life Services — Sarver.

Born June 26, 1941, in Sarver, she was the daughter of Robert Hemphill and Augusta Graham Hemphill.

She worked at Moonlight Mushrooms and later at Friedman's grocery store. She was a member of Saxonburg Memorial Church. She enjoyed camping and doing word searches, and her main joy was spending time with her grandson, Lukas.

Surviving are daughter, Kendra (John) Hancock of Kittanning; two sisters, Lori (David) Drane of Sarver and Cheryl (Gary) Kelly of Sarver; one brother, Tim (Marylou) Hemphill of Saxonburg; and one grandson, Lukas Hancock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Black; her parents; and two brothers, David “Skip” Hemphill and Robert Hemphill.

BLACK — Friends of Ruth Black, who died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, with a memorial service following with Ginger DiTullio officiating, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
