Butler County's great daily newspaper

The Eagle a valuable resource

I would like to express my appreciation for a newspaper that does it right.

I'm so impressed with the extent of effort the Butler Eagle puts in to pertinent local and global news and their involvement of area schools, their achievements, and recognition of the extended and sometimes, extreme efforts of teachers to provide the best they have to offer our youth.

My husband and I moved to Butler County three years ago and we rely on current news and local events. We have discovered many new events and experiences thanks to Miller Minutes, announcements of local offerings, including upcoming school plays, Hobnob Theatre, Butler County Symphony Orchestra, Butler activities and local venues for cultural events.

I especially appreciate the history of the area and the in-depth explanation of politics, in local, state and federal races and the implications. The bipartisan information offers a neutral, informational approach to fair journalism.

I very much enjoyed reading Donna Sybert's story “Telling our story to ensure community journalism's future” (Oct. 5, Page A4). I also like reading the letters to the editor to get a feel for local sentiments and opinions.

Please keep up the fantastic work you do for our community.

FYI: if you haven't seen the miniature hand carved circus, I recommend that you check it out. It is a marvel to experience and a reminder of a slower, creative time. It's a significant part of our local history. Again, kudos.

Lori Albright,

Connoquenessing Township
