Targeting drug boats supported

Regarding last week’s letter to the editor (“Military attacks on boats called illegal,” Nov. 16, Page A4): There is a big difference between fishing boats and drug-running boats.

It doesn’t matter if the drug boats are docked and empty of “product” or on the open sea delivering their poison. They should be destroyed wherever they are found.

I’ve seen photos and videos of these boats and they have nothing in common with fishing boats. To suggest otherwise, as last week’s letter did, is pure fantasy.

These drug-running boats have four to eight 250 horsepower outboard motors, many barrels of fuel and a cargo hold for the drugs.

No fishing gear whatsoever.

President Donald Trump has directed our military to perform an important mission to destroy as much of the poison killing our people as possible. They have my full support and gratitude.

Phil Kriley,

Renfrew
