Cortney Hazlett and Derek Peterson

Cortney Hazlett and Derek Peterson, both of Butler City, were united in marriage Sept. 27, at The Grand Estate at Hidden Acres in Freeport. Pastor Dave West, of Graceway Community Church, officiated at the double ring ceremony. A cocktail hour and reception immediately followed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Tammy Hazlett, of Chicora. Parents of the bridegroom are Terry and Barb Peterson, of Corry, Pa.

The matrons of honor were Lindsey Wolfe and Abbie Miller, friends of the bride. Dom Sachetti, of Corry, served as best man.

Ring bearers were Gage Johnston, nephew of the bride; and Quinn and Aiden Reilly, nephews of the groom.

The bridal party also included Laura Fries, sister of the groom; Cora Reilly, niece of the groom, as flower girl; and Tera Songer, Breanne Folk and April Fedor, all friends of the bride. Groomsmen were brothers-in-law, John Fries and Kevin Reilly; Kyle Gates, friend of the groom; and Nick Peterson, Ethan O’Connell, Justin Beron, and Richard Sterndale, all cousins of the groom.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of Butler Area Senior High School and a 2014 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

She is a registered nurse at Butler Memorial Hospital.

The bridegroom graduated from Corry Area High School in 2007 and the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2009.

He is the president of Peterson Cartridge Company in Cranberry Township.

Following a honeymoon trip to Maui and Kaui, Hawaii, the couple is making their home in Butler.
