PennDOT announced a number of traffic pattern changes on Route 68 for the Karns Crossing Bridge Project that are expected to last until November 2026.

A release by the department said the second phase of the project will begin on Monday, Nov. 24, with lane shifts onto a temporary Route 68 near Delwood Road and traffic signal changes at the Route 422 eastbound on and off ramps.

The speed limit will be reduced to 30 mph through the construction zone.

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained, but access to Delwood Road will remain closed until Nov. 1, 2026, the release said.

Motorists are able to access Delwood Road from the west by taking Butler’s Main Street, turning onto East Brady Street and then turning onto Delwood Road.

The bridge replacement project, which replaces both the bridge and an adjacent arch culvert, is estimated to be fully completed in spring 2028.
