Talk to discuss Native American history in Butler County
Tom Rabbit, the author of “Travels Along the Buffalo,” will present a talk for the Evans City Historical Society at 7 p.m. Nov. 24, in the Evans City Community Room, 204 S. Jackson St., Evans City.
Rabbitt started the “Travels Along the Buffalo” project and wrote the book to document Native Americans in the Buffalo Creek Drainage and inform people about those who lived there over the past 12,000 years. The local Native Americans that lived in southwestern Butler County were likely members of the same tribes, according to a news release from the Evans City Historical Society.
The historical society also invited interested guests to bring artifacts — such as arrowheads and spear points — to the talk to hear Rabbit’s input.
